Grogan’s Castle sits on top of a hill with a spectacular view overlooking mile upon mile of wild, African terrain. It is approached by a road that snakes its way up to the top of the hill, past the airstrip, depositing visitors at the foot of broad steps. Guests are then lead through wrought-iron entrance gates. Guests then enter into a central courtyard with a fountain and a dazzling frangipani tree in full blossom.
There are five very spacious en-suite double bedrooms. Each room is unique and reflects the character of a bygone time. The rooms all have views over the surrounding landscape and in this hot, dry landscape, gentle breezes, blow gently through the castle to provide a very welcome breath of cool, fresh air.
Nearby attractions and places to visit include Kenya’s largest Park; Tsavo National Park, Lake Jipe Gate into Tsavo is 20 minutes drive away and here you can find a variety of wildlife; elephants, lion, leopard, giraffe, buffalo, and even rhino abound. Mzima Springs is found within the park, fed by the distant volcanic Chulyu Hills.
