Itinerary

We pick you from your residence and drive through the great Rift-valley to the Maasai Mara National Park. You will stop at the Great Rift-valley viewing Point to take photos of the historical escarpment. Masai Mara is part of the Serengeti Vast Plains famously known for its spectacular great Wild-beast Migration and is home to big 5: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino. You will have an introductory game drive on this day. This prepares you for the full day game drive the next day.

After Breakfast , you leave for a full day game drive with packed lunch. The amazing wildlife experience continues. On the plains are large herds of Herbivores grazing and cheetahs and leopards hiding in their locations. Masai Mara is the heart of Kenyan tourism with large species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino). Your picnic lunch will be at the Mara River migration point.

Early morning game drive in search of animals killing and eating. Later come back to the camp for breakfast then check out of the camp. You leave for Nairobi with picnic lunch en-route to Nairobi. In Nairobi you will be dropped at your place of choice.

Frequently asked questions

The Maasai Mara wildebeest migration is an annual event in which millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya, in search of fresh grazing land and water sources.

The Maasai Mara wildebeest migration usually takes place between July and October each year. During this time, visitors can witness the spectacular sight of thousands of animals moving in herds across the plains.

The best time to see the Maasai Mara wildebeest migration is between August and September when the animals cross the Mara River. This is a theatrical and dangerous part of the migration, as the animals have to navigate crocodile-infested waters.

In addition to the wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, visitors to the Maasai Mara during the migration can also see predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, as well as elephants, giraffes, and a variety of bird species.

There are a number of tour operators that offer guided safaris to the Maasai Mara during the wildebeest migration. Visitors can choose from a variety of accommodation options, from tented camps to luxury lodges, and can travel by road or air. It is important to book well in advance, as this is a very popular time to visit the park.
