Tsavo West National Park is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Kenya and is part of the wider Tsavo Conservation Area, which also includes Tsavo East National Park and the Chyulu Hills National Park.

The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including the famous “Big Five” (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino) as well as other animals such as giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. There are also several natural attractions within the park, including Mzima Springs, a series of natural springs that form a permanent water source for wildlife in the area, and the Shetani Lava Flow, a black, barren expanse of solidified lava that was formed by a volcanic eruption over 500 years ago.
